The Eye

Can't believe the eye has been going for over 12 years now. It's still completely excellent and currently £7 cheaper than London's newest viewing platform up the Shard. Actually it's a bit of a shame in London that there aren't more places you can go to look out over the city that are cheap/free. Monument, although the second tallest 'building' when it was opened and king of a city dominated by Church spires, is now dwarfed by a vertically expanding City. Alexandra Place or Parliament Hill are both great but you can't see the detail. The cafe at the top of the Tate Modern has good views but does anyone have any other thoughts/suggestions?
