Spindles

We've been adding saplings to our mixed hedge, including a few spindle. Hopefully they'll grow to give fruits like this one on a small spindle tree on a nearby roadside. Kendalians may know the sign at the bottom of Gillinggate that refers to an old spindle wood in Kendal, and the use of the wood in the wool industry (see extra).
