The existential panic about the new variant of the virus continues.

There seems some evidence that it is more infectious, causing the rest of the world to put us on the naughty step. But there is also evidence that it has been here for months, and is also present in other countries.

Maybe, just maybe they haven’t seen the same recent surge in cases, not because they don’t have the mutant virus (as that posh tosser will no doubt refer to it), but because they locked down aggressively a while ago, and weren’t encouraging people to spread around the country for Christmas.

Just a thought, but it does fit the available facts - which is a good starting point.
