How many do you remember?

This will probably depend on how old you are. I can remember most of them fairly clearly but some are very dim memories because the change over came when I was still quite young. I have no memory of the farthing - before my time - but I can vaguely remember my grandmother giving me what she called a threepenny joey, however I don't think that is the correct term for the coin she gave me, which was the larger version shown in the photo. I think the 'joey' referred to a smaller silver version of the threepenny coin shown and was discontinued sometime in the early sixties, to be replaced by the one in the photo. I can also vaguely remember getting a sixpence under my pillow when the tooth fairy visited and earning a ten bob note at my first Saturday job. Inflation being what it is my children were left a pound coin by the tooth fairy, I dread to think how much she has to shell out now!
