Christmas Lunch, Castles And Topiary
Confession.
Today’s Blipfoto’s were taken at an NTS Christmas Lunch three years ago.
There is no Volunteer’s lunch this year. Just one of the many regular events that have been postponed.
These two are of the Topiary gardens at Earlshall Castle which is about five miles away.
The Topiary gardens are quite spectacular. A visit to Earlshall was first item on the agenda before retiring for lunch to a nearby hostelry.
Drawings of the gardens are on display at the V&A Dundee.
If you look closely at the extra, you will see beyond the garden and trees is an airfield. It was RAF Leuchars and is now home to the Army Engineers.
It is still used by the RAF numerous times during the year, and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
There are over 2000 Castles and Towerhouses in Scotland.
