Decimation

Woke to the migraine that was threatening yesterday and in the night... spent the morning in bed with a dark cloth over my eyes, trying to get over it with pills, not wanting to cancel lunch at Cecílio and Ermelinda's.

Not helped by the sudden noise of two chain saws starting up right outside my window. But, being a committed Blipper, struggled down the steps to my camera and took this without even really seeing what I was looking at. It's Zé Carteira with his two s-i-l 's and grandson beginning the work of pruning our olive trees.

Made it to C&E's, feeling worn out from the pain and nausea, but hungry enough to eat C's as ever excellent food. Good time together, and walked back to find our olive trees from the gate upwards absolutely decimated, and a lot more sun streaming onto our house. Good now, won't be so good in the summer, but it's how you keep olive trees going for hundreds of years, and ours needed doing.

The light was so gorgeous, decided to walk up the hill and watch the sunset instead of our usual Sunday nap; it was stunning, even the puddles from all the rain glorious.

Weird to have no church on the 4th Sunday of Advent, but felt a lot better after watching our Sutton church's Livestream this evening; our s-i-l, Sam, sang a beautiful song, he's such a good singer, plus other excellent carols, a dance, and so on. If you're lacking some good Christmas feelings, here are the details of other Christmas livestreams they have or are putting on, and here is the link.

Gratefuls:
- feeling well enough to go to C&E's and that it was a migraine, and not the virus!
- coming up with an idea for my birthday with them, hope it works out...
- our church in England, so full of love and kindness, and musical talent

If you want to hear the song Sam sang, it's here.
