My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

I do not know why it is but I feel a tremendous sense of pride at owning garden furniture. 

I mean, for years we didn't even have a GARDEN. A garden BOX was the best I could do. And now look at us! Chairs and everything. 

I feel very grown up all of a sudden. I have an urge to judge young people!

Bloody young people.

Caro decided to rearrange things out there today. She wanted to create a "coffee area" with the two light grey chairs you can see in the background.

That meant moving the big table with chairs over. And then we put up the big canopy umbrella. We did this with only minor swearing which was ALSO something of a triumph for us. 

It is unfortunate that - in this picture - there appears to be no reason at all for the umbrella. As you can see, it is completely overcast. But - trust me on this - that's just bad timing on our part. It was mostly very sunny and after Caro and I had finished, we enjoyed ourselves sitting out there under it. NOT sunning ourselves.

Of course the main reason for all of this is for our guests, who will be arriving on the 23rd. Before that happens, a few other things need to happen to our little house, but for now we shall sit outside with Jasper. Who just had to get his little bum into the picture.
