To Bee or not to Bee, that is the question

This isn't the best Blue Banded bee I've ever blipped, but seeing that today's safaris have been worse than useless, it's about all I've got. Although I did get a fairly good image of the grossest fly you ever saw. But even I was turned off by it. I also got a really bad image of a dragon.

I stalked this poor little buglet for ages before I got even close, and it's interesting because I don't think I've ever taken an image of one resting (for about a millisecond). They use those pincers for grasping a stalk or a piece of grass, and basically they rest. That's how they go to sleep as well. The males can cluster several to a single stalk and rest overnight, but I've never been lucky enough to see it. The females go back to the burrow and sleep in the entrance to guard it. Or so I believe. I've never seen that either.

I think this is a fairly young female. Her bands are in extremely good condition - not worn at all, and a fairly bright blue, although the colour isn't good in this particular image.
