Decided to brave the rain and wind. Luckily after a few minutes the sun broke through. Unexpected as continuous rain was forecast

Had our walk. Fed the goats. Pretty mild. The wind must have blown over the welcome sign to the hotel pool. The man portrayed definitely isn’t dressed warm enough for a swim.

Back to news Boris had convened an urgent meeting. Rumoured London and the South-East will be elevated to a new draconian Tier 4 level.

A more virulant covid strain has emerged. Seems no more dangerous, just spreads quicker.

A news conference is due at 4pm. Personally I wish they’d stop inter-regional movement etc, and enforce it. Cases still low down here, but can change quickly. So many complaining, yet it’s the same in many European countries, and often stricter than here.

Mr G’s bringing tea. Then after the news conference, we’ll open a bottle of ‘good’ Spanish white wine
