The local Jazz Festival

As my son S is going to be joining the junior jazz band at his new high school, we went down to the Eltham Jazz (and Food and Wine) Festival today to watch the school's senior jazz band play. And very good they were too. S is very pleased, as he is going to be first trombone - he was second trombone in his old band.

He is also starting to play the euphonium, which is a common second instrument for a trombonist. I might try and get a shot of that next week, when he brings it home after his first lesson.

I do have some nice bug shots today (a pretty Banded Caterpillar Parasite Wasp, for example) but thought I'd give you all a days rest from the bugs.
