A Christmas Rose  (Helleborus niger)    According to legend a little shepherd girl had watched the three Magi pass by with gifts for baby Jesus and she wanted to give him a present too but was upset as she had nothing.  While trying to get a glimpse of the baby in the stable her tears fell to the ground and miraculously a beautiful white Christmas rose emerged so she picked a flower and now had her gift.
