What You Knead to Make Bread
The adventurous Mr S took a workshop yesterday to learn to make sourdough bread. He came home with a delicious loaf and this jar of sourdough starter. Last night it was a lot smaller and denser, like cookie dough. By this morning it had expanded quite a bit and it was time to feed it with more flour. You do this a couple times and then it's ready to use. I've had starter in the past that looked more like thick cream, so this is a new experience. Very exciting! The actual baking won't happen for at least a week, and I will definitely post a picture of the first home loaf. Three cheers for Mr S!!!
