Turned my whole world upside down
We had a moment at dinner tonight.
Since everyone has come home, dinners have been had round the table, where we all discuss the joy of cooking Si's creations, birth, sickness, drunken nights, travelling, all sorts.
It's all very sociable.
Tonight, after we finished eating and I was enjoying a cuppa, Tooli leaned over and picked up the dominos, she emptied them out on the table and we started to play.
These dominos came from my childhood, and I don't know how long they have sat on the shelf.
As we played she picked up the lid, and said "there's writing in here, and in an instant, I was back inside eight year old me. Playing dominos with my dad on the "wee table" in front of the tv.
The scribbles Inside the lid in the biggest youngest writing: "DH HH" Who's DH? they said "Daddy Henderson".
On the inside of the box - there was also H, and cheekily in my very young writing , "Joe".
A JG and HH (Juanita Goslan) and Helen Henderson (as I was), and a H, J and D (Helen, Jacqui and Dad).
Me and Dad always seemed to tie.
He was that kind of Dad.
Me and Tooli played enough games so that we tied too.
You learn from the best.
