A largely windy and wet day but nevertheless a day closer to spring... they can't take that away from us. A couple of days away from winter solstice, and it's easy to see how important the date was to our ancestors. 

Get the food in, in time, and sew the next lot, in time, or the whole village starves. Without the Druids to establish the calendar it could easily go to pot. This comes home when we realise we've eaten all the sprouts and there's no more shopping delivery slots before Boxing Day!

Happily, the camper van is clear of rubbish having done a tip run the other day, and the beer fridge is replete with champers and tonic waters. The videoconferencing festival can commence. Sundowner time.
