Baking a (bird) cake.

It was a bitterly cold day today & thankfully I was working at home in the office catching up with some design work & correspondence. Not very exciting blip opportunities there.

As the weather was so cold I decided to bake all the birds that hang out in the hedgerows around Rose Cottage a big cake. Melted blocks of lard and chucked in as many nuts, dried fruit, oats, seeds and other goodies that I could find in the pantry.

It was quite a bejewelled colourful sight when it had set in my bread tin. I sliced it up and put it outside in the feeders and on the bird table. It caused quite a commotion. I was going to try and photograph all the visitors sharing it in their little community, but dusk was falling and they didn't turn out too well.

So you'll have to use your imagination and enjoy the view of the cake before it was enjoyed for the last meal of the day.
