Vail pass

I came home today, the drive was better this go around.  Vail pass was still wet on the west side, but only wet and not icy which is a win in my book!  I actually stopped at the top of Vail pass, there is a rest area there that I've never stopped at before.  This time of year when I drive by there are so many snow mobiles there doesn't seem to be any place to park.  Today I decided to stop anyway just to see.  I'm glad I did it, beyond the snow mobiles is a parking area for the regular cars, I opened up the car door and enjoyed the wonder that is a mountain peak in winter.  So beautiful.  This picture is actually the view from the parking lot.  Can't go wrong with a view like that.  I made it home just after lunch, saw the nephews who watched the dogs while I was gone and then took a lovely nap.  So good to be home, gonna sleep well tonight.  The extra is just another view from the vail pass summit.
