Hedge rows
A beautiful sunny day, but with a cold continental breeze, called for a walk. One of the appealing things about the countryside round here is the hedges, particularly at this time of year after their late autumn or winter trim. The local farmers do a great job cutting the sides at a rakish angle and the tops immaculately level. Hawthorn predominates, but there are all sorts in the mix. This one has the added appeal of beech, still resplendent in its autumn coat.
Later managed to get stuck back into the field, moving some stacks of wood and piles of stones, then digging out some of the bramble roots. It was quite heavy work and the back was complaining later - hoping no damage done.
