Hell is a broken lens

When i went to use my 14-42mm lens tonight i couldn`t work out why there was a black border around the image when i took the shot . Turns out the front glass element has fallen out of the lens and the border you see here is straight out of camera and is caused by the lens hood and it also explains the soft focus to the image as a whole ......
ah well !! such is life ...............
