Pump Action
I had to drop W in Norwich this morning so took the opportunity for a drive out to somewhere on the Broads. This is Thurne Mill, but that is actually a misnomer because it is a pump rather than a mill, being used to prevent the low-lying farmland from flooding. It brought back memories being here; although I’ve been back a couple of times since, the first time I came here was almost 50 years ago on a boating holiday with my school friend Douglas, who is one of the group I normally meet on my annual reunion in York which, of course, has not taken place this year.
I’ve added an extra, which was taken from the same spot looking in the other direction. A cormorant drying rack, perhaps?
