A New Day Dawning on the Christmas Tree

We had sunlight at the start and end of the day. Is this a new weather trend? We were up long before the sunrise (not difficult at this time of year) and were sitting indoors waiting for the sun to rise over the clouds on the horizon. Just now it is unusual to see so much blue sky but it gave us confidence the sun was going to show, and it did. This picture is taken just outside the kitchen. We enjoyed it so much we went on a pre-breakfast walk.
Later in the day we headed into town and took another walk with Rose. By then the sun had just set so we headed down to the South Sound to get maximum light.
