The Mortuary Chapel

Following on from my entry of 8 December, no visit to Hospitalfield can be complete without a visit to the Mortuary Chapel. Situated in the middle of the Western Cemetery, Arbroath, this building was also designed by Patrick Allen -Fraser in memory of his wife.

A rather foreboding building on from the outside the interior is a quite remarkable example of the stonemasons art.

This afternoon started off with a Team’s meeting with the NTS management about Hill of Tarvit and other activities for 2021.

There were problems with our sound, and at times we were reduced to writing on post-it notes and holding them in front of the camera.

The grounds and golf course are likely to open up in 2021 with the Mansionhouse opening in 2022.

There is also the possibility of guiding at Falkland Palace. Pat is also interested in helping create period costumes at Falkland.

Nothing much will really take off until we are all vaccinated.

Despite all of the ballyhoo over Christmas Arrangements, the general consensus amongst our friends and contemporaries is that Christmas can wait and be amalgamated with Easter.
