I'm back... party!!

I must have lost some computer-karma or gained some bad one, because almost anything got broken last week.

It started last friday with just another power-outage (must have been over 10 times already here in town in 2009 alone). My girlfriend rebooted the home-theatre PC etc. and all seemed working fine.
The next day I was preparing the Windows-Vista DVD for my new PC on the laptop and it appeared one of the 6 drives in my server had died. So I removed it from the array and promised myself to fix it as soon as possible. Only problem was my new computer wasn't working stable at all, so I couldn't free some space on one of the drives in that machine to replace the faulty one in the server.
Today I finally got to install my new PC and about an hour before I was going to replace the drive, another drive in the server died, rendering the array useless. Well most of the data is backed-up but still it will take a lot of time to rebuild and replace all.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the server rebooted (crashed) and it appeared 2 other drives just died, which put the dead-drive-count reach 4 (out of 6 in the server) in a week after this power-outage.

Too bad you can't claim anything from the power-company and even when the downtime was long enough, you only would get compensated for about 35 euro a day if I remember correctly. :(

I backblipped starting at april-fools
