Building beds .....
A busy Monday.
Once everything was fed , Campbell of Oxton’s lorry arrived in to collect the 7 cull cows and 3 store blks and heifer for the mart at St Boswell’s . Usually I haul everything my self for a Monday sale, but that would have meant 2 loads before lunch time , which would have been pushing it.
Next to arrive was a lorry from Ikea with a new bed for Junior who is due home from Uni ( covid tests negative hopefully ) at the end of the week.
As it was a lorry and not a van it was too big to get up the ( nice clean ) front drive and arrived in the back yard with all the seasonal mud, so everything got dumped in the back door on the kitchen table.
Later on , just started to make my lunch when Murray Farmcare arrived in with a delivery.
Then the plasterers turned up to see the office ceiling which they hope to start midweek .
After that , Mr L phoned wanting me to unlock gates down the road so he could get in to cut the hedges. So a wee jaunt with a big set of keys.
When I eventually got finished up tonight, Mrs F suggested it might be a good idea to remove the pile of boxes from the top of the kitchen table and actually build up the new bed .
Well that’s another couple of hours of my life I won’t get back, but hey ho, job done .
( a lot easier with a hammer and a battery powered drill/ driver )
Hopefully it will please his nibs when he comes home ( and if they keep changing the rules he will either be stuck in Aberdeen or stuck here for weeks ! )
