Blackford Pond

While Hazel was at the vet's, having his tufty bottom-fur combed out following a reassuring check-up, we passed the time with a walk round Blackford Pond. 
Swans and four cygnets, ducks and lots of black-headed gulls fulfilled the birdlife brief, the sun shone, plenty of mud underfoot, it felt like a real country walk, which brightened up our mood, after hearing very sad news earlier in the day.
