Cool Buns

Yep

I made for my colleague’s 50th birthday tomorrow

White chocolate, cranberry and hazelnut buns (we don’t call them muffins in Dublin)

I was tasked with dessert. Another colleague makes amazing sushi and another brings in goats cheese from her neighbour’s goats up in the Wicklow Hills.

We have to stand in our conference room wearing masks, at 2 metres distance and no blowing out of candles. No singing or shouting either as that hastens the spread of the damn V. How have we come to this! Isn’t it dreadful! In the normal way we are a closeknit bunch - but now we talk to each other in a muffled way through our masks and can’t have supportive natter in tea-room as only 2 people allowed in there at the one time.

How can anyone doubt the importance of social interaction.

But we will celebrate our colleague’s half century and assure her we value her friendship and presence and she will ‘blow’ out the candles by flapping a large envelope from the stationery cupboard. Sigh
