The plague beneath this lamp by St Johns Museum in Warwick reads:
"The gas lamp standard was made by Warwick iron founder Thomas Roberts in the
1820's at his foundry in coventry road only 200 yards away. It was restored in the workshops of British Gas West Midlands in 1986 and erected on this site to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Warwickshire Museum.
The official re-lighting of the lamp was performed by the chairman of Warwickshire County Council, Councillor J.G Brindley, on 15th July, 1986."
