Sugary bite
Promoted, self-promoted, to middle swimming lane, in between a tumble turner and the snorkeller. Chatting in social distance manner afterwards to a lady goes twice a day because like me she feels this freedom will last probably only last at best until the end of December. Trying not to think about January (and no doubt February) as well.
Foraged successfully for additional Christmas cards on Kilmarnock Road, arithmetic somewhat awry and I need more. It is the tradition here for us all to exchange cards (many with an uplifting message) so I still need another two.
Commenced the woodpecker tree decoration… had not realised that the shape is quite subtle, and that the YouTube guides invariably relate to a north American variety. I have no idea why I am concerned because nobody except us will see it, this year anyway. R thinks it is a robin in progress, which might be easier, and arguably more seasonably appropriate. But I have started so I may as well finish.
The other nice thing that happened today was a chance encounter in Morrison’s carpark with an acquaintance from Argyll and Bute who has recently translated to the Bishopric of Glasgow and Galloway.
The blip, by the way, is the sweetie window of the second-best (contentious) ice cream shop in the Southside. The Newlands café for those in the local know.
