Just because .....

this is private land, why create such a blot on the landscape. These are only a few of the clapped out vehicles on this land which borders Chudleigh Knighton heath. I should'nt complain, it means I have plenty of DS material for the future. I walked Indie along this path, it was part of the Teign Valley Branch railway track, back in the day. I used to ride this track on horseback out to Heathfield, part of a lovely ride now part of the track has been claimed by a local farmer, so PRIVATE PROPERTY, KEEP OUT signs nailed to the trees, along with barbed wire fence. A real shame as this could have been incorporated into the cycle path routes they are creating here abouts.

The Teign Valley Branch

"It took 43 years, two railway companies, and eighteen Acts of Parliament (and six more failed Bills) to make the 15¾ miles of railway from Exeter to Heathfield that became known latterly as the Teign Valley Branch. Even in a country whose railway system at large had a distressing tendency to benefit the pockets of lawyers at the shareholders’ expense, this was some achievement."
The opening words of The Teign Valley Line, by Peter Kay (Wild Swan Publications)

I  remember the trains running alongside the river in Chudleigh Knighton, now part of the A38. We used to run down to the level crossing and watch the trains going through. We were quite often on the railway track as the train was coming along & had to scarper quick. The Teign Valley Branch train only chugged along.... I think.

So Ranvir has gone ... the obvious contestant to leave.

Suzanne arrived at Mum's at 3pm, she met Indie, Indie met Boris, her collie x springer x ?. He was really chilled, Indie was absolutely fine with him. We went for a short walk together up onto the heath. Indie's daily walk sorted. Suzanne will do 4 days, I'll do 3. That's a relief. Perfect!
