It's a sad state of affairs when you get excited about the arrival of a new long gripper after breaking the old one. This however is a much improved model - the shaft can be angled in 3 ways, it has a secure grabby end and a magnet for picing up small metal objects, and the handle doubles as a shoehorn to let you put on and take off shoes (and socks, I discovered) without bending down. It will also pick up 2-5lb objects without breaking, as the last one did. My ribs are quite a lot better but this really helps with reaching.
