Yomp

A most pleasant day. Robert and Finola arrived for lunch bearing delicious Christmas gifts from Restaurant Chestnut, a Michelin starred venue in Ballydehob. They have had to be versatile during these difficult times and have a very good value take out menu and a Christmas pop up shop. We had some gorgeous goodies including the most divine little doughnuts with an apple dipping sauce. Spoiled rotten. We ate hearty soup and homemade rolls (and the doughnuts!) then went off for a yomp around the lake, first being waylaid by some very frisky bullocks on the road. It was pretty soggy - see the path - but the views and colours were mighty. We put the world to right.
