the day...

...is done

after a cold, blustery day - with snow showers leaving - a few inches of snow - on the ground - the late afternoon skies - opened up with the - sun shining through the clouds - in a stunning display - of a sunset surprising me - into quick action - i was just about to post - something else when this - sky presented itself - and i couldn’t pass it up - it lasted a mere moment in time - and i got off only 2 shots - not my best and - it has some noise

but it was so striking - after a week of news - continuing to hear of covid numbers - climbing with deaths as well as - people infected and the refusal - of some to wear face coverings - believing it infringes on their rights - making it a political issue - instead of understanding it as a - health concern is one which - befuddles me and saddens my heart - where has our level of compassion - gone that we can’t think - of our fellow man but are - so self-centered, so self-involved instead - where i am left thinking of an empty plate - the pair of shoes no longer - worn but left by the door - others are looking at ‘me’

perhaps this is the sign - of what grief has left behind - for a people who don’t know how - to cope with it - they don’t have the tools - to effectively understand or deal with it - so may they pause to reflect - on some beauty like this sunset - which abba provides for us - and recognize hope can be found - there and we can experience anew...
