Turbot

It was with grim fascination that I watched the Bojje’s meal with UVDL unfold on Twitter. Much discussion of the scallops and turbot menu. The former served with a veloute of squash. The latter with a purée of pommes de terre and wasabi. If it wasn’t so tragic it would be hilarious.

This morning the sun shone again after a week of rain, a crisp line of snow on the higher summits. The day drifted by in a warm embrace as the burner did its thing - on a lower combustion setting. Later I mixed up a load of mortar and did more on the steps. It was parky by the time the day was fading.

The sun gave a lift but it’s hard to escape from the grief and absurdity of the grim Brexit endgame and forebodings of the trouble to come.
