John Fortey Yard
While queuing outside the butcher in Northleach today, I took this shot of the yard next door. John Fortey was a wool merchant who was a great benefactor to the town of Northleach in the mid 15th century and he rebuilt much of the original church, turning it into the 'Cathedral of the Cotswolds' as it is known today. He died in 1458. I believe he lived in the Tudor house which is now home to our wonderful butcher.
In extras is a snap of Ivy who was quite content to sit quietly in the window and watch the world (and hopefully other dogs) go by while we had a toastie for lunch!
