A very 'type two' fun day in especially British mountain weather, a low ambient temperature, severe wind chill and a level of wind driven miserable drizzle capable of achieving total saturation.
We spent a while hunting in the cloud for the Halifax memorial, seems to be more and more poignant every time I visit it. Young lives lost in the most honourable and stupidest of human causes.
Add in a lovely high looping walk, enough rock to make it spicy in places and good company and as I say, fun.
We pondered much on the names of the places we visited. Carr it turns out is mainly indicative from the old Norse of swamp. Seemed apt.
