Today's the day ……………………. to decorate the tree

I don't think I've ever done it this early - it's all that time to spare that we've had recently - but today I decorated the Christmas tree.

Readers of this journal will know that it was not just any old tree.  It was my Scots Pine seedling, that I came upon in about 2008, when I was weeding in the garden.  Back then it was about six inches tall - now it's about eight feet.  It came with us here in the removal van, three years ago - and it's doing really well.

It will never be the symmetrical, perfectly formed pine that you can buy in the shops, but it's very precious to me - and it makes Christmas that much more special ……………………….
