Village windows
A busy day starting with a very nice 4 mile walk with Chris along the Leeds Liverpool canal from Bingley to Hirst Wood locks. We got a take away coffee and drank it overlooking the lock. What I’ve never noticed before is a recreational nature reserve just behind it. Someone has put a lot of work into it and it’s worth a look.
We walked back through the woods and got back just in time for a bite to eat before heading off to our church choir master’s to record a song for our 9 Carols and Lessons Zoom service on Sunday. We are being recorded in pairs and have to stand out side his garden under and oak tree with a shower curtain between us! We’ve done something similar before but in his garden which isn’t allowed now in tier three.
Now I’ve just got in from a wander around the village with three friends to see some of the village lights and decorated windows. We left at 3.30 and spent about an hour and a half around the top end of the village. Two of those accompanying us are blippers, Corinthian Column and Yorkshirebred and we bumped into Wilsden Walker and Tobywalker doing the same thing whilst delivering Christmas cards so expect a few similar blips tonight!
Lots to delight but this depiction of our village has to be my favourite, it’s outside the pharmacy and shows our village shops, churches and school. I wanted to record it as I think it is very clever.
May walk around the other the parts of the village another time so be warned, there may be more to come!
