Blipping Forty

Breaking wave

Today the camera club had an outing to St Mary's Island which is a very small island off the north east coast at Whitley Bay. The island is linked to the mainland by a causeway which is submerged at high tide. We spent several hours on the island during high tide which meant that we were 'marooned' for a few hours. It was an interesting spot and provided many photographic opportunities. The weather could have been better but the wind and cold added to the atmosphere!! Thankfully the lighthouse on the island which now serves as a visitor centre provided us with some welcome home comforts including a kettle!! This is one of the many shots of the day.
