Katie took ownership of Duncan's old bike today. It has lain at the back of the garage for a few years, bits and pieces cannibalised for other bikes, so I re-built it and she was off like a shot. She's normally quite fussy about pink-ness but this bike has gears like the brothers have, so she doesn't care. "I'll go fast everywhere!" she shouted...
Bike Beaming Biker.
I left my work phone in a meeting yesterday afternoon, which made the whole day a bit mad. I was planning to get the first inter-site minibus out of town from near the train station, but instead I had to take my bike down to the office to get the phone which meant running through the building and jumping on the bus just in time. Then most of the day holding forth in a meeting, and a taxi back to the station when I remembered my bike at the office. So, the taxi detoured to let me jump on my bike, but the lights weren't with us on the way. So, the bike went in the taxi - not the folding bike, full-size. Up to the station with seconds to spare and the train was leaving from the platform next to the bike stands. So, made it! And everything in its right place. Phew.
