Parquetry

I didn’t sleep well. My sister messaged overnight. Mum’s heart was not good, she’d had a heart attack nearly 40 years ago and her heart was badly damaged. Another message came later - triple bypass booked for Thursday. I wasn’t sure she’d make it. I talked to my sister when I got up. We’re all worried, I’m distracted, enough so that it was obvious in class to one student. Oh well.
I took the photo (the only one today - thank goodness for hotel slippers which I thought might come in handy one day as I was leaving Muscat) in the evening for one of my friends in Cairo. He’s renting an apartment soon to get it ready for when he marries next year. Tiles or MDF he asked. Parquetry, I replied. It’s expensive he said. I suggested he get it second hand. He'll look into it. He also told me not to come to Egypt, too many Corona cases. Maybe I'll go to London next year instead. Plus, it'll be better for work being there. I've also heard internet in Cairo isn't great for online teaching. Decision made. I'll talk to my manager.

My sister said she wouldn’t msg til the morning to let me sleep and I’m ready for bed.
