Missing the toddlers
Third week of Level 4 restrictions starting and, fingers crossed, we'll hear tomorrow that they'll be lifted on Friday. The numbers in Stirling have gone right down in response to the current measures which is great news. We're being extra cautious because, however careful we are over the Christmas holiday, things are bound to get riskier. With any luck there'll be some little feet to fill these slippers this time next week.
On the positive side the wee ones are fine and able to go to school or nursery. The 5 year old was Primary 1 star of the week last week. Her classmates had to say positive things about her. One comment was, "I like her hairband"! The two toddlers are happy at their respective nurseries where they both go two days per week. We have benefitted from online meetings with them. It's been good to see them on screen doing the things children that age do - trying out new words, sticking their fingers up their noses, having meltdowns, laughing, waving and doing their own thing oblivious of the chat. What a bonus it's been for keeping in touch.
Frankly I have nothing to complain about. Many people have things a lot worse as I know only too well. So although the slippers might look slightly forlorn I'm not. I can fill a day very happily doing the things on the list. For example, Christmas cards remain unwritten. Time to get a move on.
