Vanille Kipferl

Made like my mother and grandmother did. Same recipe and they taste much better than all the ones you can buy....
Springlike temperatures outside and some critter is eating my so carefully planted bulbs that are already showing their little green tips. It bites off the tip, does not eat it, but starts eating the layers of the bulb onion. He leaves half hollowed out. Who could do that?
