Canelés
Canelés.
I made a batch of canelés today—these were enjoyed as an afternoon snack. I first tried canalés on a weekend trip to Bordeaux, where they originated, when I was spending a semester abroad in Paris (I double majored in French and Philosophy as an undergraduate). They have a crunchy exterior and a custard center flavored with rum and vanilla. They are wonderful.
