The stage is set
Today was the day to get our online service up and running, and so since the stage in the church is decorated for the season I thought that I would just record from there.
The plan worked fairly well, and when I started recording the light was quite lovely in the room. It was in the afternoon with the sun shining through the windows, and onto myself.
As I recorded myself talking, the sun set and the light disappeared. 20 minutes later, I was pretty much in the dark talking to a camera, in the sanctuary.
It’s tough enough doing those sorts of things without having to do them two or three times. I just decided my face was still visible enough even though it was dark in there.
I find that’s the challenge of recording services or sermons for use online. A mistake or somebody comes into your room or somebody knocks or even if the phone rings, and you have to either edit it out or start over again. Fun.
But I am grateful for this kind of background for the people who aren’t able to meet together for worship in person any longer.
It will help set the stage for advent I think. I am thankful that the lady who does this continues on to decorate and create a beautiful space for us.
Even if it’s only used online.
