A white tailed eagle and an advent candle
Today was a day for completing lots of little jobs..... and then the white tailed eagles called. There was some squaking above me when I was out in the garden and this made me look up to see a smaller bird (probably a buzzard) chasing off a pair of white tailed eagles who were making their very distinctive cry. I ran to get my camera but, in my excitement, I struggled to focus when the birds were at their closest so it wasn't until they were heading south that I managed to get this shot, so you just have to trust me.
I calmed down enough to have some lunch then headed off to the church to tie a representation of an advent candle to the church gates. Usually, we have lots of evergreen and candle decorations in our village church for Christmas, but not this year. However, to make sure that the church was part of the Christmas celebration it was decided that we would at least have something symbolic outside the church. Hopefully, more will be added to this before Christmas.
