Looking Up
Despite more snow overnight, there wasn't a great deal left this morning. It was very dull and uninviting but I was beginning to feel desperate for some fresh air and exercise, so I donned warm clothing and set off for a walk. It was surprisingly pleasant, and brightened up as I walked up the hill. One I got onto the path that skirts the golf course, I was delighted to see quite a few birds around - more than of late. These thee Fieldfare are part of a large flock that have been feeding on haws from the overgrown roadside hedges, and insects in the damp fields. I also saw a couple of Greenfinch, and Goldfinch, a pair of Jays, and half a dozen Yellowhammer, as well as assorted gulls and corvids in the fields
