Standing Alone

Another day, sunnier and warmer than normal. We three chair visitors readied ourselves for today's visit at Barb's: warm coats, hats, gloves, electric lap blankets - then sat in the sun hardly needing any of it. Later, for an afternoon walk, I, once again, overdressed. We are having a warm December, and it's not the warmth we feel for fellow voters who did the right thing this year, it's our weather. Much as we love these beautiful, warm, sunny days, we need rain and snow. 
This is one of the houses I love seeing on my walks; it sits up on a rise and appears to be all alone; that's what I like about it, though that's far from the case. It used to have a large, empty double-lot to the right, now there are two houses there, both larger than it is.
