Christmas at the Botanics

With so few opportunities for socialising, I was really looking forward to tonight's post-work entertainment: a visit to the light display at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Mr hazelh and I bought tickets for six of us as a birthday treat for Paddy, Katharine, and Jack.

Of all the light displays that I have seen in recent years, my favourites are those hosted in the garden. Tonight's display was as lovely as ever, and it was so nice to see our family/almost family together for the evening. Afterwards Paddy and Caitlin headed back to Porty. Meanwhile Katharine and Jack came back to our flat for cheese and biscuits and mulled wine in the yarden before they caught their bus home for the night.

My work today was focused on helping Peter finish off his grant application for the submission deadline tomorrow. It's looking really good and I do hope that it is funded.
