A handsome horse ....

One of those days again.
Fed cattle then started to stir slurry in the slatted shed as the tank under the blks nearly full. Only problem was Mr M turned up to start fitting new gutters to the shed and needed the pallet forks on the loader tractor. I also needed the pallet forks to lift out the panel slats to stir slurry . So a lot of sharing and swapping tractors required.
Went to fill up the bruiser hopper with barley while the slurry was mixing, but the 60 year old conveyor chain decided today was a good day to fall apart again. So spent a good couple of hours hanging from the rafters getting it all joined up again . Unfortunately I had started pumping water from the burn to thin out the slurry and forgot all about it . By the time I remembered and climbed out the rafters the water was up through the slats and very nearly running out the shed. Bugger. So had to hitch up the slurry tanker and suck a load out to lower the level then run it into the storage tower as you can’t spread slurry just now due to all the rules . Then back to aerial acrobatics to finish the conveyor job.
Gave up mixing slurry at 8.30 pm and went for my tea. The rest will need to wait till tomorrow ( if we aren’t snowed in , going by the forecast )
This was one of the horses over the march fence when I fed the outside cows this morning. It came over as I was shutting the gate so I gave it a good scratch between the lugs which it seemed to like. It had a better coat on than me !
