Zoom painting

It has been raining and dark for most of the day.. so it was a perfect day to meet with my plein air group online and have another painting session.
I had a phone call just before starting from a friend who has had such a horrible few months.. ended up losing her sister to cancer and then the landlord insisting they vacate the sisters property within the month whilst also putting the property on the market so showing people round the house while she was clearing.. honestly where is humanity??  Anyway I was late to the group and actually didn't feel like painting at all.. no inspiration, just blank and feeling drained.  The thing about friends is that they are there to support and to share.  My plein air group are wonderful.. one sent this picture of a windswept lone tree up on the ridgeway that she took a few weeks ago and the paint just started flowing... I feel better for the time spent with them and with my imagination to interpret this hillside.  Certainly a lot less windy painting it indoors!!!  ... and I quite like the result.. so here it is for you to enjoy (hope you do)
Zoom bookclub tonight but I haven't read the book (as quite a few others have not) so it will be a glass of wine and a chat I think!!
