I had an eventful day at the health clinic. First I took the blood test and since I'm really (really) difficult to draw blood from in my arm I told the nurse to take a 'butterfly' in my hand. 'Butterfly' is a thinner needle with plastic 'wings'. I also told her that I really don't like syringes... and she said that she was new at this job, but she'd do her best. Ok, that made me panic a bit, on the inside, I must admit... I'm not fond of being a 'needle cushion', as have happened in the past, but I told her I trusted her - to calm her down. Everything went really well, and all the little bottles for different blood tests were filled.
Then I had an appointment with a nutritionist to get help with getting all the kcal in me that I need, to loose weight. I told her I, most probably, had Covid in April and ever since I've been tired to the bone, not having the energy to exercise.
She told me she'd met many like me. Unexplainable exhaustion, she said, and I told her Yes! She said to give up the counting of calories and focusing on eating nutritious meals regularly. That's what my body needs, not calorie counting. Rest and getting outside once a day, just standing outside is enough. She also told me that some women in their 50s experience a weight gain after covid. There's no explanation... but, the weight will go down when energy is restored. It was like a Mount Everest fell off my shoulders! This will pass. It'll take some time, but it will pass. We talked about other things I could do too and will have a meeting next year. :)
